(My 84 year old father is/was a securities lawyer. I know my rights but hate litigation since it allows someone else to make a decision for me, thus taking away my decision-making ability. )
Why do hollowed out people know how to manipulate a system that substance people do not understand?
As a visual person, I grew up not understanding how to make sense of words on paper. Even though I still struggle with this, I learned to understand how to read because I had to.
Donald Trump does not supposedly understand words on paper, either, even though he stole and took many classified documents to Mar-a-Lago. However, he knows how to get people who like words on a page to do his bidding because they visually, and subconsciously, comprehend his "emotional" construct within themselves. They just have skills to advance his destruction.
Words on a page are a construct for advancement within a gatekeeper's society - you write well, you must have substance. However, if you learn for yourself what you write, you lose the vocabulary and energy to explain it to others.
Substantive people who like words on a page and passed the bar exam work(ed) at the DoJ are interested in protecting national security secrets.
From my experience, un-substantive (mechanical) people who like words on a page and passed the bar exam have the negative energy that makes them sound good in conversation and useful to people to complete the destructive tasks of authoritarians who lack the fortitude (Donald did not fire people himself) or skill.
With a final push on judges, McConnell will cement a lasting legacy for Trump distinguishes who selected and appointed the judges from 2017 - 2021.
"But Trump is in some ways a bystander in his own legacy. The legwork in finding and elevating these judges was done by McConnell in tandem with figures like Don McGahn, Trump’s first White House counsel, and Leo, the former executive vice president of the Federalist Society, a network of conservative lawyers and advocates."
If the pen is mightier than the sword, is the legal mechanisms' dance between Mitch McConnell's judges and Donald's lawyers the unraveling of American law?
This is only achieved through Donald's lawyers' writings and McConnell's judges receiving and accepting the writings while rejecting the substantive DoJ's writings.
The legal mechanisms' dance started with his lawyers being allowed to submit a two week late, "poorly" written, document after the August 8, 2022, FBI raid and authoritatively ruled on by a judge who was confirmed after the 2020 election.
Now, we will have to wait for McConnell's 6 appellate judges to rule on DoJ's appeal.
I hate feeling powerless waiting for Donald's legal mechanisms' dance to end.
This a very insightful post, Caroline, with a new perspective for me. Thanks for writing it!
