After the shock of the 2016 election, I had to learn how to make my muscles "work" again since I was frozen with fear, which is the opposite of hope. I had to remember, even though it was hard to reconcile with the electoral college results that gave TFG White House 4 year occupation, that Hillary Clinton had 3 million more votes.
(As I am writing this part, I feel the same fear creeping back into muscles.)
While learning to coexist with my fear, I eventually decided for myself that I had to make my muscles work for my own individuality. I let them have power over my decision making if I surrender my muscles / abilities.
Due to being sedentary at home during Covid, I was not as affected by the January 6th attack because I remembered TFG's December 19, 2020, tweet that was the “prelude” to the attack and I was numb.
As I wrote in the comments section of Mary Trump's "Broadway" post,
"To me, hope is knowing that as a physically disabled person I have abilities that can never be taken away from me. I would have to let them become irrelevant in a relationship. If I were to let this happen, I would lose hope.
Hope / creativity is tied to instinct and intuition which, if I mindfully listen to, will carry me through the tough times in the long run."
May 27, 2022, Update: I found the commercial on YouTube, which I embedded. 😀 👍
During the February 26-27 weekend on MSNBC, I would hear and see many times the OneRepublic's "I Lived" Celebrity Cruises commercial (original iSpot link). Their prior ad was too creepy sounding for me to watch. (No, I do not want to go on a cruise due to coronavirus, norovirus, or whatever other virus you can get on a cruise.)
After seeing this many times, it finally occurred to me what "hope" is in the (meta)-physical body. (I had not heard this song before I saw the ad.)
"With every broken bone, I swear I lived" ends the commercial.
This clarifies my post-2016 election struggle to understand Hope is the energy for the muscles to allow for the body’s movement.
(At 44:35 in Mary Trump's March 2, 2022, podcast on YouTube, she asks David Corn about how to fight projection and does not get an actionable answer. However, starting at 46:59 in the interview, David discusses how beliefs are more important than evidence to some people.)
The PBS.org definition of Metaphysical describes why my abilities people see are hard for them to extrapolate to "everyday" activities / feelings.
"Metaphysical - Longer definition: Metaphysics is a type of philosophy or study that uses broad concepts to help define reality and our understanding of it. Metaphysical studies generally seek to explain inherent or universal elements of reality which are not easily discovered or experienced in our everyday life. As such, it is concerned with explaining the features of reality that exist beyond the physical world and our immediate senses. Metaphysics, therefore, uses logic based on the meaning of human terms, rather than on a logic tied to human sense perception of the objective world. Metaphysics might include the study of the nature of the human mind, the definition and meaning of existence, or the nature of space, time, and/or causality."
My short definition is to try the activity and self-observe in your own silence. This leads to being happy with yourself since you have built a self-observant system within yourself. 😀
Intuition and creativity are also, by definition, metaphysical since there is no rhyme or reason in the moment. However, upon reflection, my intuition / creativity makes sense. It is how I learned to live.
If I adhered to other people's senses and logic, I would not be where I am today. I will only listen to others' advice that my inner-self rings true.
Understanding that Hope Is Intertwined With Muscle Energy makes it easier to reassemble my introspective system after witnessing, via the news, the horrors of the current / future events of Russia's Ukraine invasion.
Thanks for this post, Caroline. It's really thought-provoking: "While learning to coexist with my fear, I eventually decided for myself that I had to make my muscles work for my own individuality." That's a powerful insight.
